A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

This is my entry into Mini Jam : Colors.  You play as a fish which takes on the color of the water it swims in (either red or green colored water).  The fish can then go through walls that are a similar color to the fish.

The game is a puzzle game using the above features, but unfortunately I ran up to the deadline for the jam and couldn't polish the game much or create many levels.  In the current downloadable:

  • Level 1 introduces you to the game and movement controls.
  • Level 2 lets you experiment and understand the limitations of the character.
  • Level 3 introduces the concept of colored water.
  • After Level 3 you're thrown into the test level with no way to complete the level.

If I had more time I would have liked to:

  • Add background music
  • Add text explaining controls and a few other things (like for example text telling you you're in the test level and not in a broken level, which is what it looks like at first).
  • Add coins to help guide the user through levels without holding their hands.  Stuff like:
    • Putting a coin or two in the wall to indicate to the player that they can swim through walls eventually.
    • Putting coins above the water to help indicate to the player the best trajectory for a jump.
  • Add more levels
